The Art of Integration

You've read the books. You understand the patterns. Let's go deeper.

You're creative, emotionally intelligent, and driven. You may be an artist, entrepreneur, therapist, healer, or a leader who others depend on for support.

You've built an impressive life, but anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, bad habits or difficult relationship patterns still keep showing up. You know where these patterns come from. You've read the instagram posts, listened to the podcasts, and maybe even spent years in talk therapy or on personal development.

Yet something still feels stuck.

I help creative, high-achieving professionals heal the impact of trauma so they can shift survival patterns and start living with more ease, confidence, and connection.

Together, we look beyond insight and focus on resetting beliefs and behaviors for lasting symptom relief. Using a blend of psychotherapy, expressive arts therapy, body-based approaches, attachment-based work and ketamine-assisted sessions when appropriate, we help your nervous system reset and create new experiences.

Therapy can help you recenter and trust yourself again.

Feel more secure in your body, relationships and discernment.

Reconnect with your creativity and spark.

And build a life that feels as fulfilling on the inside as it looks on the outside.

If you're ready for deeper change, I'd love to connect.

Hi, I'm Juanita Viera. A fellow creative and New Yorker.

Juanita Viera (she/her), LCAT, Therapist in Brooklyn, New York specializing in Anxiety, Burnout & Trauma Recovery

I'm a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, trauma-informed psychotherapist, and founder of The Art of Integration in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Many of the people I work with are cycle-breakers.

They are thoughtful, sensitive, and deeply self-aware. They've spent years trying to understand themselves and often carry the responsibility of healing patterns that have existed for generations.

Whether those patterns show up as episodes of depression, anxiety, perfectionism spirals, family conflict, relationship struggles, burnout, self- sabotage or self-doubt, they are ready for something different.

Together, we'll create a space where insight becomes action, healing becomes embodied, and meaningful change becomes possible.

Whether we're using traditional psychotherapy, expressive arts, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, or couples work, my goal is to help you create meaningful change that extends beyond the therapy room.

--- My Clients are Folks Who Are:——

  • Learning healthier relationships than the ones they witnessed growing up

  • Recovering from emotionally unavailable or chaotic family systems

  • Trying not to repeat patterns with future children or partners

  • First-generation professionals balancing family expectations

  • Therapists, helpers, and caregivers who are learning different ways of relating

  • People doing ketamine work because they want to stop repeating the same emotional loops

  • Couples trying to interrupt generations of substance abuse, conflict, avoidance, infidelity, or emotional disconnection

  • Parents creating a new version of family

  • Couples and queer folks creating creative relationship structures

DIFFERENT DOORWAYS. ONE GOAL. Moving beyond understanding into lasting change.

Therapy tailored to how you heal.

There is no single path to healing. Depending on your needs, our work together may include:

Trauma Informed Therapy

Trauma can shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. Together, we'll work to understand the impact of trauma on your unique nervous system, relationships, and daily life habits.

Our work may include learning grounding and emotional regulation skills, healthy coping outlets, processing painful experiences, identifying and reframing limiting beliefs that no longer serve you, cultivating a more compassionate relationship with yourself, and building an aligned, supportive community.

Many of my clients are cycle-breakers—people doing the courageous work of healing generational patterns, redefining what healthy relationships look like, and changing the trajectory of their family's legacy.

Art Therapy

Sometimes words aren't enough to express or access the subconscious. Creative processes can help unlock emotions, memories, insights, and inner wisdom that are difficult to reach through talking alone.

Art therapy offers a different pathway into healing. Sometimes seeing your pain visually can help you fully process and integrate an experience. Sometimes creating an image of a future you hope to grow into can help clarify your goals and move them from imagination into action. Other times, the creative process itself reveals patterns, strengths, and emotions that were previously outside of awareness.

Art therapy can be especially powerful for perfectionists, overthinkers, and highly self-critical individuals. In fact, many clients find that creating messy, abstract, or imperfect artwork becomes an important part of learning to trust themselves and embrace growth over perfection.

No artistic experience is required—only a willingness to explore.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine is a legal, physician-prescribed psychedelic medicine that has emerged as a breakthrough treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

For clients feeling deeply stuck, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) can create opportunities for new perspectives, emotional breakthroughs, and deeper healing. By supporting neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to form new connections—ketamine may help loosen long-standing patterns and open the brain’s window to implement meaningful change.

When combined with thoughtful preparation and integration, KAP can help clients move beyond insight and into lasting transformation.

Couples Therapy

Move beyond recurring conflicts and reactive cycles. Learn to understand the patterns underneath your arguments and build more secure, connected, and long lasting relationships.

I specialize in helping couples navigate anxious-avoidant dynamics, trust ruptures, infidelity recovery, communication breakdowns, and major life transitions. Using the Gottman Trust Revival Method, attachment-based interventions and trauma-informed care, I support couples in repairing old hurts, efficient communication, and creating stronger foundations for the future. I welcome traditional, LGBTQ+, and ethically non-monogamous/polyamorous relationships.

No matter which doorway we use, the goal remains the same:

To help you feel more connected to yourself, your relationships, and the life you're trying to build.

You’re not broken, you just need space to integrate.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I take an integrative approach to trauma therapy because no single method works for everyone.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include:

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs that developed through painful experiences.

Art Therapy to process emotions, memories, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed Therapy to explore different parts of yourself, such as the inner critic, people-pleaser, perfectionist, or wounded younger parts that may still carry pain from the past.

Mindfulness and Somatic Techniques to help regulate the nervous system, increase self-awareness, and develop a greater sense of safety in the present moment.

For some clients, I may also recommend Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as an adjunct treatment to help create greater emotional flexibility and support deeper therapeutic work.

My goal is not simply to help you understand your trauma, but to help you develop new ways of relating to yourself so you can feel more connected, empowered, and engaged in your life.

  • Not at all. Creative arts therapy isn't about making "good art." It's about using creativity as a tool for self-exploration, healing, and personal growth.

  • I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through a partnership with medical provider Journey Clinical for clients who may benefit from this approach. Medication is prescribed in lozenges form and instructions are provided for self adminstration. We can discuss whether KAP is appropriate during your consultation. I offer in-person KAP sessions and remote KAP.

  • Yes. Throughout the year, seasonally, I offer local small-group Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) programs that combine ketamine medicine sessions with creative arts therapy, sound baths, mindfulness, and group prep and integration. These groups are designed for individuals and couples seeking deeper healing from anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, and major life transitions that have impacted identity. Contact me to learn about upcoming groups and whether they may be a good fit for you.

  • Yes. I offer telehealth sessions throughout New York State as well as in-person sessions in Brooklyn.

  • Yes. I work with couples who want to feel more connected, communicate more effectively, and break free from the same painful patterns that keep showing up in their relationship.

Many of the couples I support are navigating trust issues, recurring conflict, life transitions, differences in attachment styles, infidelity recovery, substance misuse, cultural differences, parenting decisions, or questions around monogamy and consensual non-monogamy.

My approach helps couples move beyond blame and defensiveness so they can better understand one another, repair emotional wounds, and create a relationship that feels more secure, intimate, and resilient. I use a combination of Gottman Method, Non Violent Communication Technique and Attachment Theory.

  • I have chosen to remain out-of-network so I can offer highly individualized care without the restrictions often imposed by insurance companies.

This allows us to determine the pace, focus, and length of treatment based on your needs rather than diagnostic requirements, session limits, or insurance guidelines. It also gives greater flexibility for specialized services such as creative arts therapy, couples therapy, therapy intensives, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

For clients with out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

    • $200 per 50 mins Individual Therapy (telehealth)

    • $250 per 50 mins Individual Therapy (in-person)

    • $250 per 60 mins for Couples Therapy (in person or online)

    • $250 per 60 mins for Ketamine Therapy (in person or online)

  • Yes. I offer psychedelic integration therapy for individuals seeking support before or after experiences with ketamine and other psychedelic medicines. I partner with clinicals offering Spravato and IV ketamine.

Integration therapy can help you process insights, emotions, spiritual experiences, unresolved relationships, or personal growth that may emerge from these experiences. Together, we'll explore how to translate these insights into meaningful and sustainable changes in your daily life. We will work together to set realistic goals for lifestyle adjustments.

Please note that I do not provide, prescribe, recommend, or facilitate access to illegal substances. Integration therapy is intended to support individuals in processing and making meaning of experiences they have already had or are independently considering. All discussions are conducted within the scope of psychotherapy and applicable laws and ethical guidelines.
