The Art of Integration: Boutique Psychotherapy in Brooklyn, NY

Meet the Founder: Juanita Viera, LCAT

Founder of The Art of Integration in Brooklyn, New York

New Yorkers seeking Holistic Therapy

You've read the books. You’ve listened to podcasts. You've tried to push through, stay educated, stay productive, and keep showing up for everyone else.

Yet something still feels stuck.

Maybe you're carrying the impact of childhood wounds, relationship traumas, complicated grief, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, or experiences that never felt fully processed. Perhaps you've spent years functioning on the outside while feeling disconnected, exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you are underneath all these responsibilities.

You don't need another person telling you to "think positive" or simply cope better. You deserve a therapeutic space where every part of your story is welcome—and heard, and where healing is approached with curiosity, creativity, and compassion and expert led care.

Why The Art of Integration?

Before becoming a therapist, I was an artist.

Growing up as a ‘Nuyorican’ New Yorker with family roots in Puerto Rico, I experienced firsthand how art, music, spoken word, dance and creative community can become powerful tools for resilience and healing. My journey began at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where I studied visual arts, and continued through studies in psychology, studio art, and Creative Arts Therapy at University of Rochester and Nazareth College of Rochester.

For more than a decade, I've worked at the intersection of mental health, creativity, and community events. I've collaborated with wellness spaces, nonprofits, artist collectives, immersive events, elixir cafes, and psychedelic-assisted therapy programs throughout New York City.

Today, The Art of Integration brings all of these experiences together into one practice dedicated to helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with their roots and most authentic selves.

My name is Juanita Viera (she/her), and I founded The Art of Integration to help people move beyond survival mode and reconnect with themselves.

As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the lasting effects of growing up in environments where they didn't always feel understood, safe, or celebrated.

Many of the people I work with are creatives, activists, therapists, healthcare professionals, educators, LGBTQ+ individuals, and members of BIPOC and outsider communities who are carrying both personal and systemic stress. Together, we explore not only individual experiences, but also the larger cultural, family, and societal forces that shape how we move through the world.

Beyond Talking: A Different Approach to Therapy

Healing doesn't always happen through words alone.

While traditional talk therapy can be incredibly valuable, trauma often lives in the body, emotions, memory, and nervous system. That's why I integrate evidence-based approaches including:

  • Art Therapy and Jungian Archetypal Therapy

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness and Somatic Practices

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

  • Couples Therapy for Secure Attachment

Whether we're using conversation, creative expression, dream analysis, communication skills training, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, my goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change.
