Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) in New York
Ketamine Therapy in Brooklyn, NY
For adults who feel stuck in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or longstanding emotional patterns that haven't fully shifted through traditional therapy.
You've Tried to Feel Better…But Something Still Isn't Changing
You may have spent years in therapy, tried medication, tried meditation, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and done everything you can to heal.
Yet you still find yourself feeling:
emotionally overwhelmed
disconnected from yourself
anxious or on edge
weighed down by depression
trapped in old relationship patterns
unable to move past painful experiences
You may understand why you feel the way you do, but insight alone hasn't created the lasting change you're looking for.
When traditional approaches stop moving the needle, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy may offer a different path forward.
What Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines psychotherapy with medically prescribed ketamine in a supportive therapeutic setting.
Ketamine can temporarily quiet the mental loops that often keep people stuck in depression, anxiety, trauma responses, and self-critical thinking. This can create space to access emotions, memories, insights, and perspectives that may be difficult to reach through talk therapy alone.
The ketamine itself is not the treatment.
The real healing comes from how we prepare for the experience, support the journey, and integrate what emerges afterward.
A Creative and Holistic Approach to Prep & Integration
At The Art of Integration, I combine KAP with creative and experiential therapies designed to help insights become meaningful change.
Depending on your needs, sessions may incorporate:
Bilateral scribbile drawing
Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work
Somatic practices
Guided music and sound experiences
Mindfulness and self-compassion practices
Creative art integration exercises such as collage or working with clay
My goal is not simply to provide ketamine sessions.
My goal is to help you translate powerful experiences into lasting changes in your relationships, emotional wellbeing, and daily life.
Looking for a Community-Based Experience?
In addition to individual KAP sessions, We offer seasonal Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy group programs through The Art of Integration and partner with Journey Clinical for medical prescription.
Our next group begins in Autumn 2026 and combines ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with art-making, community ritual, curated ambient music, live sound healing, and structured integration support.
Many participants find that holistic healing in community offers a level of connection and meaning that is difficult to access alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy at The Art of Integration
-
Most ketamine infusion clinics focus primarily on the medical administration of ketamine to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions.
KAP includes the medication experience, but places equal importance on preparation and integration. Rather than simply receiving ketamine and going home, you'll work with a therapist before, during, and after the experience to help make sense of what emerges and apply it to your life.
Many people find that the combination of ketamine and psychotherapy creates deeper and more sustainable results than medication alone.
-
Ketamine experiences can be difficult to put into words. Images, emotions, symbols, memories, and bodily sensations often emerge during a journey.
Art-making provides a way to explore and express these experiences without needing to explain everything intellectually. Creating artwork can help clients process emotions, uncover deeper meaning, and preserve insights that might otherwise fade over time.
No artistic experience is required.
-
A typical KAP session lasts approximately three hours.
Hour One: Preparation and intention setting. We discuss your goals, emotional state, and create a supportive environment for the experience.
Hour Two: Ketamine journey. You relax comfortably with eyeshades and music while the medicine takes effect. I remain present throughout the experience to provide support if needed.
Hour Three: Reflection and integration. We discuss what emerged, journal, enjoy tea, and begin exploring how the experience relates to your life and therapy goals.
A separate integration session is typically scheduled within 24–48 hours to help deepen the work and translate insights into meaningful action steps.
-
Music plays an important role in shaping the ketamine experience.
Carefully curated ambient and instrumental music can help create a sense of safety, support emotional exploration, reduce external distractions, and encourage inward reflection. Many clients describe music as an important guide during their journey.
The ambient music used in sessions is intentionally selected to support the therapeutic process without directing or influencing your experience. Music playlists can be customized to start with a meditation focused on your intentions.
-
Research suggests that ketamine temporarily increases neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain's ability to form new neural connections and patterns.
While everyone's experience is different, many clinicians believe the most active neuroplasticity window occurs during the first few days following treatment and may remain elevated for approximately one week.
This is one reason integration work is so important. The period after treatment can be an ideal time to reinforce new habits, perspectives, emotional responses, and behavioral changes.

Ketamine has been used in medical settings for decades and is considered safe when prescribed and monitored appropriately by qualified healthcare professionals.
Before beginning treatment, all clients complete a medical evaluation with a licensed prescribing provider to determine whether KAP is an appropriate option.
As with any treatment, ketamine may not be suitable for everyone, and potential risks and benefits will be reviewed during the screening process.
